:(

It's a sad day for Greg Oden, the Blazers, and Blazer fans.

Moving forward, the Blazers need to manage and build their franchise with the assumption that Oden is unavailable. Whenever he plays, you consider it a bonus, but this team must have multiple alternatives if it wants to be a championship contender.

Especially with Outlaw hurt, this team needs to find a big man for the immediate future. As much as I like Juwan Howard, his best skill at this phase of his career is cheerleading. Finding one for the long term would be wise as well.

Its too bad that Millsap signing didn't work out afterall...

I agree with John Hollinger when he says

"Oddly enough, then, Oden’s is a franchise-altering injury, but I’m not sure it’s a season-altering one. Tonight’s game leaves me with the sneaking suspicion that Portland will continue more or less on its previous trajectory toward a low playoff seed. That would have been a huge disappointment with a healthy Oden; it now will likely be seen as a pleasant surprise."
